I am Daniele Quartana. I coach powerlifting and weightlifting, I officiate weightlifting as a qualified technical official, and I wrote DQ Fitness because nothing I could buy did what I needed on a Tuesday evening with eleven athletes and a full-time job.
I coach powerlifting and weightlifting, and I officiate weightlifting as a qualified technical official. I judge the sport as well as coach it.
Alongside coaching I have a director-level career in operations and strategy. It is why this runs like a system rather than a hobby: real data, honest tracking, and no figure on a screen that nobody can account for.
I wrote DQ Fitness because nothing I could buy did what I needed on a Tuesday evening with eleven athletes and a full-time job.
DQ Fitness started as my own coaching practice and still is one. Every part of this software was written against a real athlete with a real meet on a real date, and most of it exists because something went wrong first: a max that flattered somebody, a note nobody could find, a recovery score that meant nothing on its own.
That is the whole argument for it. A coach who has never had to programme around an athlete's shoulder does not build injuries that carry until the athlete says they have settled. They build a notes field.
I started at fifteen under Brian Hamill (1937 to 2020). Forty years coaching at Woking Weightlifting Club, a British Weight Lifting board member, and one of the most influential figures the sport has had here. BWL runs an award in his name.
I coached the university's weightlifting club, then founded the powerlifting club from scratch. Set it up, ran the sessions, kept records for every lifter.
Advanced personal training with YMCA, weightlifting coaching with British Weight Lifting, then powerlifting instruction with British Powerlifting. Level 2 in both, and a qualified technical official.
The foundation: anatomy, physiology, programme design and coaching people safely toward a goal.
Olympic lifting: the snatch and clean & jerk, coached and officiated to national-body standard.
The squat, bench and deadlift, coached to national-body standard.
Every platform I looked at could deliver a programme and take a video. None of them read a wearable and said what the number meant. None of them put my answer on the set it was about. None of them knew what a technical official is looking for, because none of them was built by one.
So it is licensed to other coaches now, rather than kept. If you coach people who expect the software to be as serious as you are, that is who it is for.
